How to reach Dudhsagar Falls: Goa

Ok... if you like adventure, hiking, swimming, playing in the mud, riding a bike, walk through railway tunnels, forests, rivers, and such stuff this should interest you.

My car dropped me at Collem, about
36 km from Quepem where I am living. Here I hired a local motor bike and the adventure began. What a journey it was! The bike - mine was a Hero Splendor - rode through a thick deciduous forest along the railway track on a narrow stretch of almost nothing. After a couple of hoping off and hoping on back the bike crossed the railway line and the next phase of fun began. What we drove through could hardly be called roads - there were none. I crossed a river walking, so did the bike behind me. And then after 45 mins of cross country biking, I reached the base. Now the climb up - an almost 75 degree hike straight through slippery, muddy no roads. And shoe broke! At last I reached the railway track again, running on top of me now. Turning left, I crossed two tunnels - the walk is only through the railway line - got a little wet and then I reached. Saw the mighty Mandovi river cascading down the hills in layers after layers....The Dudhsagar fall - water as white as Milk.

The fun didn't end here though ...the icing on the cake was getting drenched crazy in a wild rain inside that thick forest while returning... What a day!
